ALL CURCUMIN IS NOT CREATED EQUAL.  MUCH OF THE COMMERCIALLY AVAILABLE TURMERIC HAS LESS THAN 3% CURCUMIN AND WON’T GET PAST THE GUT TO DO ANY GOOD

Curcumin is the yellow pigment associated with turmeric. It’s the principal curcuminoid of the turmeric plant. The curcumin in turmeric has potent anti-inflammatory effects. Inflammation is a process in which the body’s white blood cells and immune proteins help protect us from infection and foreign substances such as bacteria and viruses. In some diseases, however, the body’s defense system (immune system) triggers an inflammatory response when there are no foreign substances to fight off. In these diseases, the body’s normally protective immune system causes damage to its own tissues. Some, (but not all) types of arthritis, are the result of misdirected inflammation. Arthritis is a general term that describes inflammation in joints. Curcumin has been used in traditional Indian and Chinese medicine for thousands of years largely because of its ability  to treat conditions with inflammation.

Watch out for:  The percentage of available curcumin

For maximim effectiveness, choose a product with with high percentage of curcumin. Much of the commercially available curcumin, (typically found in turmeric) has less than 3% curcumin. For curcumin to act efficiently there should be evidence that it is available at adequate  levels in the blood stream to positively affect the target areas of inflammation.  Brilliant joints has 95% curcumin arranged in their natural order.

Watch out for:  Curcumin is lost in the digestive process

Most curcumin is lost in the liver and GI tract rendering low doses of curcumin ineffective.  Extra measures need to be taken to help the curcumin through the digestive tract and into the blood steam.  Brilliant joints increases the bioavailability of the the product using enhanced capsule technology.  These capsules bypass the liver and GI tract in much the same way as certain pharmaceutical drugs to reach the blood stream and the target tissue areas with the dose intact.

Watch out for: Products that have not been tested in a US lab

Commercially available curcumin has been found to have toxic levels of lead, mercury and arsenic.  Be sure that you supplier is testing in in the US to assure purity and safety of the product.  Brilliant Joints is tested in a US lab to ensure purity and safety.

ABOUT BRILLIANT JOINTS

  • Brilliant Joints is optimized to contain a minimum of 95% Curcuminoids:Curcumin (C), Demethoxycurcumin (DMC), Bisdemethoxycurcumin (BDMC) – the complete range in their natural composition ratio of 76:19:5. Brilliant Joints contains the full spectrum of curcumin antioxidant. Curcuminoids are extracted from Turmeric (Curcuma longa root) and represented in their natural arrangement for maximum potency
  • Brilliant Joints offers increased bio-availability with a combination of time delay, acid resistant capsules and piperine.
  • Brilliant Joints is independently tested in the USA
  • There are no fillers in Brilliant Joints

INDEPENDENT RESEARCH

Its’ medicinal properties and components have been the subject of over 5600 peer-reviewed and published biomedical studies. In a five-year long research project on this sacred planthas revealed over 600 potential preventive and therapeutic applications, as well as 175 distinct beneficial physiological effects. This entire database of 1,585 ncbi-hyperlinked turmeric abstracts can be downloaded as a PDF at our Downloadable Turmeric Document page, and acquired either as a retail item or with 200 GMI-tokens, for those of you who are already are members and receive them automatically each month.

Curcumin has been shown to influence more than 700 genes, and it can inhibit both the activity and the synthesis of cyclooxygenase-2 (COX2) and 5-lipooxygenase (5-LOX), as well as other enzymes that have been implicated in inflammation. It is a small molecule that is the prototypical ‘curcuminoid’, and has effects similar to other polyphenols but unique in a way as it is a different class of polyphenol (relative to the other classes of ‘flavonoid’, ‘stilbene’, etc.)

OTHER USES

Cancer Prevention and Treatment: The anti-inflammatory effects of curcumin appear protective against some forms of cancer progression. However, curcumin has additional anti-cancer effects that are independent of its anti-inflammatory effects and is used for both cancer prevention and treatment.

Alleviating Cognitive Decline: Curcumin is alleviating cognitive decline associated with aging, being heart healthy by both electrical means and reducing lipid and plaque levels in arteries, and both reducing the risk of diabetes and being a good treatment for the side-effects associated with diabetes.
